Design acquires N-Space IP
Monday 18th March 2002
Leading Australian web developer Recall Design has celebrated
its tenth birthday by acquiring the Intellectual Property and
key staff from competitor, N-Space.
Adelaide based Recall Design has strengthened its position in
the marketplace by acquiring innovative technology including mature
website content management software that complements its in-house
developed Content Management System.
Established in 1991, Recall Design has positioned itself as a
clear leader in the eBusiness and web application industry. Two
years ago, the company established itself as a beacon of stability
in a volatile sector by selling 50.1 per cent of its stock to
accounting industry leader MYOB.
Recall Design CEO and founder Frank Falco said the N-Space acquisition
opened an important window of opportunity for the company. "We’ve
gained about nine months in product development time over our
competitors," he said.
"N-Space had invested heavily in some very clever technology that
dovetails closely with our Content Management System, so buying
it rather than building it represents clear value to us. This
acquisition gives us some leading edge smarts, both in terms of
staff and product development."
Recall Design has purchased the Intellectual Property (IP), trademarks
and domain names held by N-Space, a web application developer
that collapsed late last year. In a separate arrangement, the
company hired several key N-Space employees.

Recall Design will merge its XML based Content Management System
(CMS) with N-Space’s WorkSpace program, producing a new version
of WorkSpace that dramatically simplifies the process of website
maintenance, improves content quality and reduces cost. The
combined product will represent more than 25 person-years of
development time.
Recall Design is currently working closely with former N-Space
clients, including Hills Industries, Brock Barrett, Department
of State Aboriginal Affairs and the SA Cricket Association.
Recall Design employs 22 people delivering services to clients
nationally. It was recently listed as Australia’s eleventh fastest
growing technology company on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50
list. The company recorded revenue growth of more than 501 per
cent during the past three years.
The company’s innovative web solutions deliver business gains
for its clients that include leading companies such as Wendy’s,
MYOB, Adelaide Bank and Well.com.
